Budding artists will be in the spotlight as Cayman Traditional Arts opens its latest exhibition this weekend at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
Cayman’s Future Artists showcases artwork by 30 children involved in Cayman Traditional Arts’ summer day camps.
It opens Saturday at The Gallery of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and continues through to November.
The works on display focus on Caymanian places, festivals, people and animals.
Throughout the summer, Cayman Traditional Arts held camps for kids ages five to 13 that featured an extensive art programme led by local artist Chris Christian along with hands-on traditional Caymanian activities.
Participants learned different techniques in painting each week including realism, impressionism, pointillism, cartooning and abstract.
The opening reception will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Gallery from 6pm to 8pm.
Attendees can enjoy special dinners and rates at the Ritz-Carlton’s 7 Prime Cuts & Sunsets and Bar Jack.
