Masked ball for October

Charity group Lean on Me is organising a Venetian-style masked ball to help raise funds for needy causes in Cayman.

Derri Lee, chairwoman of the organising committee of Lean on Me, which usually raises funds in response to specific cases, said the ball would enable it to have funds in its coffers so it could offer immediate help to people in need.

‘It’ll be a chance for people to get dressed up and enjoy themselves. We plan to make it an annual event,’ Ms Lee said. ‘The ball is being held to aid us with our ongoing fundraisers. We are welcoming any donations from the public.’

The Masquerade Fall Ball will be held at Camana Bay on 25 October, from 6pm until midnight. Tickets are $60 and will go on sale on 1 October at Funky Tangs and Reflections.

The masquerade ball will be a formal-wear event and masks, 150 of which are being specially shipped in for the ball, will be provided at the venue where complimentary welcome champagne and hor d’oeuvres will be served.
