Women get hooked for the day

Women and children interested in angling now have a chance to enter an annual contest to show off their skills.

The recent Cayman Islands Angling Club’s first ever Family Fishing Weekend with a Junior and Lady angling tournament was a huge success.

Fun was had by all. It was the perfect opportunity for not only fathers and sons to go fishing together but for the entire families to enjoy quality time together.

It was a perfect weekend of fishing – seas were calm and the fish were biting.

One dad said that this was the best tournament he had ever fished in.

Organiser Megan Bodden said: ‘Being a lady angler and a mom, I wanted a weekend focused on the ladies and most importantly the kids.

‘Cayman is in need of family friendly events and the angling club stepped up to the plate with our first ever Family Fishing Weekend. I am looking forward to planning next year’s event which will be bigger and better.’

She added: ‘I want to thank our sponsors: Animal House, Atlantis Submarines, Bodden Beverages, Browns Marine, Burger King, Cayman Distributors, Eva’s Nail Care, Foster’s Food Fair, Kirk Marine, Pestkil, Progressive Distributors, Ragazzi, Renaissance Salon & Spa, Travel Pros and Universal Air Conditioning

Bodden was among the many anglers who won prizes. Her total amount of fish weighed was six which she caught from the magnificently named boat She’s Royal.
