Cayman National Bank is sponsoring the University College Cayman Islands’ student steel pan band.
The musical student group was recently named Pandemix.
The sponsorship afforded new steel pan band equipment for both the Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac campuses, as well as Pandemix’s participation in the upcoming Pirate’s Week celebrations.
The sponsorship will cover all the costs for the UCCI Pandemix float and truck for the parade and the steel pan band competition.
UCCI’S Music programme Director, Glen Inanga, said: ‘This donation from Cayman National has further inspired the band members to work hard to exceed expectations. Our partnership with Cayman National is truly invaluable and we cannot thank them enough for their generous support.’
Claudia Welds, Cayman National’s Corporate Communications Senior Executive, said: ‘Having entered into this partnership with UCCI in support of their music programme to launch their steel pan band, Cayman National is excited to see the students ‘take their first steps’ to perform as a band.’
