I am from Arizona, United States.
I was visiting Cayman Brac to dive and fortunately I did get in four good days of diving. However, one night and one partial day of my trip were spent in the schoolhouse shelter during Hurricane Paloma.
I was most impressed with the caring and concerned efforts of all involved, staff and shelter visitors alike. Shelter warden, Jean was exceptional.
Thank you for taking care of me and my dive group during those fearful hours.
The refuge we took in the first grade class was nice because I was able to view all the wonderful art and other student work which gave me peace and reassurance that all would be fine.
And it was fine because the greatest gift of this experience was that there was no loss of life on the Island. I find this incredible considering the force of the hurricane!
