The project was headed up by Cristina Ferreira of the Pink Ladies Craft Group, who fabricated the cork trees.
Cristina designed the trees, not only as a creative Christmas decoration, but also to demonstrate an alternative use for corks that usually end up in the garbage.
When Sheila MacKenzie, Pink Ladies Craft Coordinator, contacted Paul McLaughlin from Jacques Scott, he agreed to buy the cork trees.
Jacques Scott will be re-selling the trees and donating the proceeds to the Pink Ladies.
Profits from the trees will go toward the general fundraising of the Pink Ladies Christmas Bazaar which is being held on 29 November from 2-5pm at the Family Life Centre.
