Flight cancelled

It would help tourism immensely if Cayman Air didn’t cancel direct flights without notice to passengers. I only found out about cancellations on Saturday when I called the airline to change a return date. My fiancé and I planned to travel to Grand Cayman in December and be married. We were bringing several family members with us. My mom is quite infirm and the only way this is doable is if she could travel directly (three hours from New York). Unfortunately her flight was cancelled and now the whole enterprise is in jeopardy as I am reluctant to marry without my mom being present! That will be six more bookings on the cancel side!
