It’s great to read that the North Sound Club has hired a PGA professional and the Club is opening its facilities to Cayman young people.
This course of action (sorry about the pun) will allow the younger generation to have an alternative recreational outlet, something that is sorely needed.
As the North Sound Club is the only real golf course on the Island, I hope these moves will motivate the owner to maintain the course as an open to the public facility.
Many tourists want something other than watersports to have as an activity.
Since its reconstruction and upgrading, the NSC, formerly the Links at Safehaven, has proven to be of Championship calibre and one of the finest courses in the Caribbean.
The design and hole layout is superb, the conditioning is terrific and the management and staff professional.
My guests and I have played both the Blue Tip course at the Ritz and NSC and give NSC very high marks compared to the boring Blue Tip course.
I hope ownership realises what an asset the NSC course is to the Island for locals and tourism.
One great golf course does not make a golf destination resort Island but it definitely helps.
Keep up the good work.
