The Cayman Islands Society of Human Resources Professionals has announced that Ahisha Bodden and Sheena Sigsworth are the recipients of a scholarship to study for the Professional in Human Resources/Senior Professional in Human Resources certification at the University College of the Cayman Islands.
The certification is a component of the Masters Degree in Human Resources being offered at the College. The certification, awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute signifies that an individual possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resources necessary to pass a rigorous examination, demonstrating a mastery of the body of knowledge in the field.
Ahisha Bodden, Strategic Human Resources Manager for Mike’s group of companies, commented that she is very excited for the opportunity to receive a scholarship at a professional level as most scholarships offered in Cayman are for school leavers.
Sheena Sigsworth, Acting Director of Human Resources at Cayman Airways, added that this was an amazing opportunity and she is honored to be one of the first recipients of the award. She feels this will help gain credibility and respect for the HR profession in Cayman.
Samantha Nehra, Vice President of the Society, commented this certification is a globally recognized and credible qualification that can be achieved while working full time.
‘The Society is very pleased that UCCI offers this level of certification on island and supports advanced studies in Human Resources,’ she said.
‘The awarding of these scholarships also demonstrates the Society’s commitment to the development of its members and raises the overall standards of professionalism in the field of Human Resources in the Cayman Islands.’
