Deloitte has recently strengthened their Security and Privacy services team by bringing on top talent within the Enterprise Risk Services department.
Over the past seven years, the ERS group of Deloitte has grown significantly by providing Caribbean based clients with a range of services including risk and security management, control assurance, internal audit, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery services. Recently, the ERS group has expanded their core team to assist in serving the ever expanding security and privacy market. Mr. Andrew Douglas, Manager, has joined the fast growing ERS group under the direction of Mr. Jeremy Smith.
Commenting on the recent additions to the team, Mr. Smith, partner responsible for the ERS practice for Deloitte in the Caribbean highlighted, ‘We are very pleased to have Andrew join our team in Cayman. Having team members with his level of experience and expertise will be a tremendous benefit to our current and future client base both locally and regionally. We work closely with our clients to address and manage risk and security issues facing the financial services industry to ensure our clients’ needs are fully serviced by the most talented professionals.’
Mr. Douglas will manage the Security and Privacy service line, which offers services such as vulnerability and attack and penetration assessments, data protection and privacy assessments, and security management consulting. These services are designed to identify and demonstrate real risks to business’s who rely extensively on the internet and other network based computer systems, and provide actionable and real world advice and solutions to reduce this risk to acceptable levels. These services build out Deloitte Cayman’s capabilities to assess and address risk ‘from the Boardroom to the Network’. In his role, Mr. Douglas will be focused on the fund and banking industries in Cayman as well as regionally across the Caribbean. Andrew started his career with Deloitte New Zealand in 2001, spending 3 years there assisting clients in the Asia-Pacific region, before moving to Deloitte’s San Jose/Silicon Valley Cornerstone practice. Andrew managed Deloitte’s Security Testing facility in Silicon Valley, which serviced some of Deloitte USA’s largest financial services, technology, and life sciences clients. Andrew’s last engagement in the United States, before moving to Cayman, involved managing and performing a global attack and penetration exercise for a Fortune 15 technology company. This included a security assessment of one of the largest privately held internet IPV4 address spaces, a web application penetration test of several of the internet’s highest volume technology eCommerce stores, and managing the wireless network testing of the client’s physical locations in North America, Asia, and Europe. Andrew is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional as well as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and has worked with some of largest financial institutions in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand.
