Legends want fans’ help

Here’s a golden chance to enjoy watching some world class tennis for free.

The Cayman Islands Tennis Federation needs around 25 volunteers to call the lines at the Legends Event. Volunteers will be required to be a line official for a minimum of two sessions.

The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman Legends Championships takes place 24-26 April in Grand Cayman. Legends like Jim Courier, Goran Ivanisevic and Marco Philippoussis are on their way here.

Volunteers will be given two free tickets to watch the tournament for a session plus a t-shirt, hat and meal are included.

There will be a break during each session as volunteers will not be officiating the whole time. There will be two qualified officials managing volunteer lines people.

There will be a mandatory training session on the weekend of April 18-19. Don’t worry, McEnroe is not playing this year!

The CITF is also looking for ball boys and girls to assist a minimum of two sessions.

Around 35 juniors over the age of 11 are needed. T-shirt, hat and meal will be included. It is a great opportunity to meet the pros and be close to the action.

On the day of the Legends event, check-in is slated to take place two hours before the scheduled matches at the volunteer tent within the Ritz-Carlton tennis club.

Volunteers can park on the lot next to the tennis courts. Sign up sheets are at the Cayman Tennis Club from federation rep Cassandra Pederson.
