Sea swims back

The Cayman Islands Amateur Swim Association’s Open Water Committee has compiled its calendar for the year.

It starts with the family friendly 800m LIME sponsored swim this Saturday.

CIASA is grateful that its regular sponsors are all back on board, including LIME, Butterfield, Foster’s Food Fair, & CUC. Plans include holding one of its favorite swims in the Brac in spite of Hurricane Paloma hitting the island last November.

This year’s edition of the fabulous Flowers One Mile swim on June 20 promises to be bigger and better than ever, attracting participants from Florida, California and Australia.

Hoping for better weather than last year, CIASA’s Open Water Committee has split the 5k and 10k swims by two weeks to allow ample recovery time for those so inclined to swim both events.

This Saturday’s LIME swim, like all of CIASA’s 800m events, will start at the Governor’s Beach, finish at the Public Beach.

Run as one big event, results are divided by age groups, the youngest being 8+Under. Awards and food and drink follow each event.
