Earth Day run was fun

The annual Earth Day 5k Run/Walk was another huge success.

It was sponsored by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and organised by the National Trust of the Cayman Islands and the Phoenix Athletic Club and brought Earth Week activities to a close on Sunday morning.

Coach Jerry Harper was in charge as usual to ensure everything went smoothly.

It was run from the Dart Park on South Church Street and sponsors PWC had a great turn out, fielding 12 teams alone.

Many of Cayman’s regular runners were out on the course, including man of the moment Ken Krys who was having his first run since completing the epic Marathon des Sables desert 135-mile run recently. Thankfully, his blisters had receded.

The Cayman women’s rugby side was out in force and there were plenty of strollers too, including tennis president Jeremy Superfine with his two little angels.
