Three bags of mail destined to the Cayman Islands last year arrived on Grand Cayman on 3 April.
The US Postal Service in New York had routed the three small dispatches of mail to Cayman on 4 August; 30 November; and 6 December.
‘The reason for the delay has yet to be determined,’ Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow explained. ‘But there seems to have been some mix-up between the airlines involved in transferring the mail, and it was left in a warehouse in Jamaica.’
The three dispatches of mail should already be awaiting collection in Cayman post boxes.
‘We regret any inconvenience this delay has caused and we are dealing with the matter with the appropriate agencies,’ she said.
