Marriott Resort tightens security

The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort has implemented a closed circuit TV security camera system throughout the hotel using the latest security technology available on the market.

The state of the art system along with the necessary cabling infrastructure was installed and implemented by IT network services and solutions company Caribbean Network Solutions Ltd.

‘The project was a significant investment by the hotel and we have had some very positive feedback from guests and staff alike. We take security very seriously, so much so, that we had constructed on site, a dedicated security building,’ explained Vicky Nall, who is in charge of the Loss Prevention department at the Marriott Resort.

‘The cameras record activity in key areas within the complex. The system was also designed with the ability to add additional cameras in the future.’

Walter Regidor, Managing Director of the hotel explained the premise behind the project. ‘Guests need to feel comfortable and safe during their stay with us and the CCTV system provides them with just that.

‘Our guest experience comes first and having a state of the art system that is non-intrusive, is just one additional ‘string to our bow’ that raises the bar and allows the guests to better relax and enjoy the hotel’.

Mr. Regidor went on to explain that the benefit of a hotel wide security system was two-fold. ‘Staff and guest safety and security have always been key focuses on our agenda. The cameras are strategically located. Staff have responded very positively to the system, particularly those that work late shifts or in areas where items of value are kept’.

Mr. Regidor added, ‘These cameras are only a small piece of the processes and procedures we have in place to make the stay of our customers a great experience and a safer place to work for our associates’.
