It was a series of quarter-mile races culminating in a five lap race. Matthew Henry (Team WesTec) was the overall winner in the short race.

Caymanian Henry, 22, is an electrical apprentice who lives in George Town. This was only his second race ever having come sixth in the recent Jet Around Cayman.

Daron McLean (Team Tryin-A-Ting) was second and third was Seth Watler (Team WesTec).

In the circuit race Cory Miller (Team Tryin-A-Ting) was triumphant. Local MLA Arden McLean was one of the many onlookers to the entertainment.

Shane Edwards, the promoter, of Team 2Frenzied, said: ‘The event was a huge success because for once racers came out for the love of the sport and we had a safe day of racing and the racers were happy with the results and asked for us to make sure the event is held annually.

‘So the 2frenzied team will have two annual events going forward; our well established East End Surf Challenge on Heroes’ Day in January and the Bull Run on Constitution Day in July.

‘Thanks to our sponsors; Tortuga Rum Company, Monster Energy, HOT 104.1 FM and East End Labour. Also thanks to all the 2frenzied Team members who organized the event. Special thanks to the Watler family and all of the Gun Bay community for allowing us to do the event at the location.’
