Stop the foolishness: God doesn’t care about the name of Pirates Week

I would like to comment on something I read in The Observer of 16 August. One article was called “Will McKeeva and the religious right kill Pirates Week?”.
I am here to remind the religious right people what God said in Deuteronomy 30:19; “I call Heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed (children) may live”. Every human being that God has put on this earth has their free will and nowhere in the scriptures will you find that God has given another human being control over another human being, no matter what position he or she holds. Have these people done what God said in Deuteronomy 4:29 “But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God thou shalt find Him if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul”.
Our Father God is not interested if we stop Pirates Week happening in the Cayman Islands, stop a gay cruise ship from coming in or any old foolish religious thing that we think we are doing Him any favours. If we really want to please God, we do what He said. Salvation is not about me or you, but is about what Jesus Christ has done for us. When we stand before the Judge Jesus, are we going to be giving an account about Pirates Week, gay cruise ships or are we going to give an account of we did according to His word?
The most important thing that we can do is win souls for the Kingdom of God’s dear son Jesus. Will there be anyone standing at the throne that Jesus will say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant,” because you were a good and faithful servant and won them for the Lord?
It’s about time that people stopped joining churches and started joining themselves on to Jesus Christ. It was Him that said, “I am the way, the truth and the life” and if His spirit is not in us we are no part of Him.
The other day there was something on the TV about the absence of fathers and the effect that this has had on sons.
Remember when women didn’t want men to open their car doors, because they were too independent? And then from that they wanted children, but didn’t think they need the men to support them. There are ladies today that will tell you that the fathers are there, but not for their children and also men will tell you that they cannot say anything to the children because of their mother. So where does the idea come from that the boys are how they are because of the absence of their fathers? What we really need to do is get to the root of all the problems that we talk about before we can say what the real problem is.
   Yours faithfully
