Cayman was first to hear bestselling author’s newest book

New York Times-bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey launched the publicity tour for his latest novel, Resurrecting Midnight, in Cayman last Wednesday night.

After a sold-out book signing event was moved to Hollywood Theatres from Books & Books to allow for more space, event organisers knew they were in for large crowds.

A book discussion at the cinema began with Mr. Dickey asking the audience which of his 12 novels they would most like to hear an excerpt from.

‘Immediately, one very enthusiastic fan jumped up from her seat to offer Eric her copy of The Other Woman,’ said Bianca Freeland, marketing coordinator at Books & Books.

After satisfying his fan with a reading from The Other Woman, Mr. Dickey briefly introduced his newest novel, Resurrecting Midnight, and read an excerpt. Released just the day before the book signing, this was Mr. Dickey’s first public reading from the new thriller, featuring international assassins Gideon and Arizona.

Mr. Dickey then answered several questions from the audience before heading over to Books & Books for the book signing, where more than 100 fans lined up for their chance to meet the author, have their photos taken with him and, of course, get their book signed.

The event was part of Books & Books’ International Visiting Author Series, sponsored by Ogier and the Sunshine Suites.
