Fidelity series runs out again

The Fidelity Fun Run Series, one of the island’s most popular community sporting events, is set to hit the streets for the seventh successive year, over the next three weekends.

Last year’s races saw more than 200 people of different skill levels and ages compete as individual runners and walkers, families and pram pushers.

The three-race series is scheduled for the next three Saturdays, 12, 19 and 26 September. Each race is a two mile course starting in front of John Gray High School on Walkers road promptly at 7:30am.

Participants can register for all three races this Saturday or individually each week. Registration opens each Saturday at 6:30am at the race site.

The ten fastest male and female participants from each age group will receive points at the end of each race. At the end of the series the participants who have earned the most points from their respective groups will receive awards.

The top three male and female performers overall will also receive trophies. Awards will also be presented to the three stroller pushers who accumulate the most points.

Entry fees are $5 per race, or $15 for the complete series, and include event T-shirts and refreshments.

Participants will be divided into age groups: Under 12, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-plus. The Fidelity Fun Run Series is organized by Phoenix Athletic Club and is sponsored by Fidelity Bank (Cayman) Ltd.
