Guy Harvey’s title bid

Mixed netball may be near its final stages but all signs point to it going out with a bang.

Especially if the last game of the season can live up to arguably the league’s best game two weeks ago.

On Saturday October 10 dozens of netball enthusiasts were treated to the long awaited match-up between Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation All Stars and Roma.

Guy Harvey’s pounced quickly on Roma at the netball courts at Truman Bodden, ending the first interval ahead 10-4.

The intensity continued in the second interval with Guy Harvey’s going into half-time ahead 17-6.

In the third interval Roma rallied thanks to lots of hustle plays from Sudan Powell and its centre.

In the fourth interval Guy Harvey’s continued to dominate the game with brilliant interceptions by Carolyn Vivian and centre Gavin Watts along with accurate shooting by Andrew Wisdom.

Eventually Guy Harvey’s would run away with it by a score of 35-19.

Playing starring roles for Guy Harvey’s were sportsmen Andrew Wisdom and Rhod Taylor along with netball stalwart Cynthia Collington.

The match had a huge bearing on the standings, especially ahead of tomorrow’s game.

Two of the top teams have one loss with Guy Harvey’s being in the top spot at present.

A win by Guy Harvey’s tomorrow evening at 6:30pm against Rising Stars World Gym would secure the league title.
