It may be halfway through the school term but football is very much still in season.
Proof of that can be seen in the opening stages of the 2009 U15 Interscholastic Football League.
The second week of games launch off this evening at middle schools across Grand Cayman.
Put on by the Department of Sports, the league incorporates four schools in Cayman Academy, Leading Edge, Pace and St. Ignatius (Catholic) High School.
Matches started last Monday with Catholic losing to Cayman Academy 4-3 at the Catholic field.
In addition Leading Edge beat Pace 3-2 at the George Hicks field.
Coming into this week Cayman Academy are on top on the standings after its four goal performance with Leading Edge right behind as the only other undefeated team.
Games are played Mondays and Wednesdays at 3:15pm.
