The Cayman Islands national girls Under-17s football team returned from their World Cup qualifier in Haiti in buoyant mood on Saturday night.
There to greet them at the Owen Roberts International Airport was a crowd of family and friends to shower congratulations for a successful tournament.
Cayman beat the Bahamas 2-1, whacked British Virgin Islands 13-0 but lost narrowly to group winners Haiti 1-0.
Cayman now face the Dominican Republic in a playoff to decide who joins Haiti in the next round of World Cup games next month.
The Dominican Republic may have a population of 10 million and a much bigger pool to draw from but judging by the way they outplayed Haiti for much of the much, Cayman will not be overawed in the two games.
