Pirates splash for 5k

A Pirates’ Week tradition continues tomorrow as the Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association is holding the 28th Annual Pirates’ Week 5k Sea Swim.

It starts at 8:30am at Governor’s Beach. Registration for the race will be in the Governor’s Beach parking lot prior to the swim from 7:30-8:15am.

The course will consist of a 5k loop centred on the Governor’s House. Given the long distance of the race, there will be a two and a half hour time limit for finishing, and participants under 12 require explicit permission from their parent and swim coach to take part in the race.

The top four finishers of the 28th Pirates’ Week 5k will be awarded plaques provided by the Pirates’ Week Organizing Committee.

All participants will be provided a CIASA swim cap upon registering, to be worn during the race, as well as T-shirts and refreshments after the race, provided by Gatorade and Flowers Bottled Water.

Each swimmer who completes the race will be eligible for draw prizes.
