CFAs in Cayman had the chance to meet and exchange information at a recent event.
The CFA Society of the Cayman Islands held its annual Information Evening and Charter Awards Dinner on Thursday November 12th at Deckers Restaurant and bar. The event attracted around 20 attendees who were keen to learn more about the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Jeffrey T. Matthias, Director of Society Strategy and Design at the CFA Institute, provided an overview of the CFA program, outlining the benefits of the designation and the study and work experience requirements.
The event was followed by the Society’s annual Charter Awards Dinner for members and guests. Two CFA Charter Award recipients, George Weru and Adam Sobolewski were recognised at the event, as were those candidates who had successfully completed all three levels of the CFA examinations.
The evening concluded with the Society’s annual forecast event, where members and guests made their predictions for the economic and market outlook over the coming year.
‘We are delighted to be able to welcome our new Charterholders to our Society and to provide recognition to those who have passed these challenging examinations,’ said CFA Society of the Cayman Islands President Arthur Dzaghgouni.
‘Having gone through the CFA Program myself, I know the amount of work and dedication that is required to obtain the designation and I congratulate George and Adam on their achievement. I hope that those who attended the Information Evening will embark upon this program of study and that we will be able to provide similar recognition to them in a few years time.’
The CFA Society of the Cayman Islands is the local chapter of the CFA Institute, a global not-for-profit organization of investment professionals with more than 90,000 members and 136 local societies that awards the CFA and CIPM designations.
