MOvember participants will celebrate their efforts the month’s charitable endeavour comes to a close with a wrap-up party, the MOsquerade Ball, at MOgaritaville tonight, Friday, 27 November, from 7pm to 2am.
A month-long commitment during November, men of Cayman have grown and groomed their moustaches to raise funds and awareness for men’s health issues, with funds raised benefiting the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. Though there is no entry fee at the finale party, donations will be collected at the door.
Leading the way by example, Dane Ramoon of media sponsor X107.1’s The Morning X radio show signed on for the challenge.
‘Over the course of the month we have had lots of socialising mixers to compare our progress – and this will be such a fun note to close out the month, and see once and for all who the real men of Cayman are,’ he said. ‘All in the name of charity, come out and make some noise for men’s health – plus there will be fantastic prizes to take home.’
A prize to be proud of, the individual who raised the most sponsorship money will be announced and awarded with a $500 travel voucher. There will also be prize giveaways to those deemed to be sporting the most unique moustaches, as voted by a counsel of Mo-experts, and a raffle including a $1,000 travel voucher as well as a selection of prizes from vendors such as Dolphin Cove and Cayman Helicopters.
Chairman of the MOvember Committee, Tim Rossiter, said: ‘Since this annual event caught wind in Cayman in 2005, we have raised US$115,000 and we can’t wait to see what we have raised this year. We hope to see a lot of familiar faces out there as we rally up the troops and close out the month with a bang.’
On the night, Mo Bros are encouraged to don fancy dress to match their mos – and ladies are encouraged to match their man’s mo.
The night will be full of highlights including Suckerbox performing all night long, and there will be all-night drink specials.
