Volunteers still needed

The Cayman Islands Marathon is only nine days away and the organisers are looking for anyone who wants to get involved.

It is on Sunday, 6 December but there’s still time for non-athletic people to be volunteers if they can’t run.

The event features a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half-marathon (13.1 miles) and a four-person relay where each team member runs approximately 6.5 miles. People can also walk the half-marathon. In addition, there is a Kids Fun Run for children between the ages of eight and 12.

All proceeds from the Cayman Islands Marathon go to the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

There are tons of ways to volunteer, from presenting medals to assisting with runners’ refreshments to race timing to transportation of runners to manning the runners’ bag check in station. Any assistance anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.
