Grand Harbour is back hosting its annual Christmas Craft Fair, a festive and fun celebration for the whole family.
This year, however, the Shoppes at Grand Harbour are expecting up to double the amount of people to attend, according to Douglas Cameron, Jr. of Black Pearl.
It’s Your Party, the recently-opened party store in the shopping complex, will host a kids’ area of the craft market that offers a toddlers-only bouncing castle and two giant bouncy slides and snow cones and cotton candy will be on offer.
‘Because of the It’s Your Party area, Santa’s visit and the music it’s more than just a craft sale, so we expect to see double last year’s numbers to almost 1,000 people over the afternoon,’ Mr. Cameron said.
The music he refers to will be performed by local school bands and choirs from 2pm, when the fair begins, to 11pm when Saturday Light Fever Disco Jams will take over the stage. Santa will be visiting from 4pm to 5pm, ready to hear kids’ Christmas wishes and pose for holiday photos.
Although it is not just about crafts, there will of course still be a large number of craftsmen and organisations represented with stalls at the fair.
‘There will be everything from Cayman baskets, black coral, silver and Caribbean jewellery to local artists’ paintings, local jar jellies and so much more,’ Mr. Cameron said.
The Shoppes at Grand Harbour will also offer specials for the day, including Christmas discounts and package specials at stores such as Blockbuster Video, It’s Your Party, Cyber Joe’s, Game Shack, Electratech and more. Game Shack will host demonstrations of popular video games to educate parents and children on the latest video game trends.
Food will be available from a barbecue hosted by Brick House on its patio, where the bands will perform on the Brick House’s main stage.
For the more active children, the wave pool will be running all day with half-hour sessions available for $20 or all five hours (from 1pm to 6pm) for $60. To watch the experts, grab a seat at 7.30pm for the Black Pearl Surf Team.
Once it gets dark, the big screen outside the Brick House will show Christmas cartoons until 9pm.
