Santa and scuba combine for festive fundraising

Rackams has come up with a fun, festive and caring way to celebrate the onset of the holiday season.

Next Thursday, 17 December, the waterfront bar and its lounge restaurant CBlu will join forces with the Cayman Islands Humane Society and Accident and Emergency to raise funds for these two organisations with a fun evening for all. Dubbed Santa Scubaluminations – for reasons which will become clear – the evening will feature a visit by Santa, carolling and a mailbox for kids to post their Santa letters.

Starting at around 5.30pm, the festivities will kick off with a Christmas carol singalong at CBlu and then, once it gets dark, underwater ‘reindeer’ with dive lights will lead the way to Santa’s boat in the dock. Photo opportunities will be plentiful as parents can have their kids present their wishes to Santa and in return, Santa will be handing out candy canes.

Donation bins for both the Humane Society and Accident and Emergency will be stationed at the venue. The Humane Society is welcoming donations of cat and dog food, cat litter, toys and treats and scented candles, among other items. Accident and Emergency is particularly looking for toys and magazines for its waiting room.
