Maples Christian Fellowship spreads the holiday spirit

A special luncheon at the Pines Retirement Home was a mixture of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Hosted last month by volunteers from Maples Christian Fellowship (“MCF”) their annual Thanksgiving luncheon not only included a traditional turkey meal with all the trimmings, but MCF volunteers also sang Christmas carols and other favourite songs of the Pines’ residents and recited poems.

“The Pines is an establishment that Maples and Calder views as being of tremendous community importance,” Maples and Calder partner and MCF volunteer, Wanda Ebanks said. “It is a privilege for MCF volunteers to give back to our community and the elderly in this fashion”. Maples and Calder raised funds for the lunch by collecting dress down day donations earlier in the year.
