Rotary teed up for swinging time

The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman is busy preparing for its annual Rotary-Scotia Golf Tournament.

Once again, Scotiabank has joined with Rotary to sponsor this popular event, which will be held at Britannia Golf Club on Friday, 29 January.

Sharon Diaz, Senior Manager for Retail Banking with Scotiabank, said: “Scotiabank is pleased to once again be the title sponsor for the Rotary Club Golf Tournament. We appreciate all the hard work and effort that Rotary commits to fundraising and using those funds within our community.’

The Rotary-Scotia Tournament will be capped at 20 teams, each made up of four golfers. All 20 groups will start at 1pm, and it is a scramble format.

Dinner will be served in the clubhouse following the golf, where prizes and giveaways will be presented. The cost is $150 per player.

What is Scramble Format? Each player on the team hits his/her own ball off the tee, and then the team chooses the best shot from among the four; the other players pick up their balls and move them to the chosen ball and they all hit their second shots from there; then they choose the best shot from there and all move their balls to that new spot and hit their third shots from there, and so on until they finish the hole.

Entry fee includes all golf fees, power cart and buffet.
