The University College of the Cayman Islands will host an interdenominational service at the Vassel Johnson Hall on Sunday at 4pm.
‘The service is an opportunity to bless the school year and all are invited,’ said UCCI President Roy Bodden, who added that he wanted the community to feel like the school was an extension of themselves and a reflection what they deemed as important.
The evening has been planned in tandem with the Minister’s Association and will feature special speakers such as Youth Pastor Felix Manzanares.
Mr. Bodden explained that it would have been ideal to do the blessing of the year at September but now was as good a time as any, ‘We have to be cognisant of the traditional values that make us who we are and it is always a good time for such a gesture.’
Organiser say the meet and great is an opportunity to seek God’s blessings on all their endeavours for the school year ahead, as well as to set a tone of reverence and order.
The event will be attended by Deputy Governor Donovan Ebanks and other top tier Civil Servants and dignitaries.
‘I would like to extend an invitation to all to come and worship with the University College of the Cayman Islands as the institution seeks God’s blessing and guidance in all its endeavours for the academic year,’ Mr. Bodden said.
