If the Carifta track team doesn’t do well when Cayman hosts the Games over the Easter weekend, it won’t be through lack of preparation.
Technical director Kenrick Williams said: ‘The Carifta training is in full swing and we have six coaches helping the youngsters prepare.
‘The sprinter Troy Long is looking real good and he could be in the 100 metres, 200m or 400m. Chantelle Morrison is working on her speed work and Travis Webb long jumped an impressive 6.81 metres last week.
‘The sprinters Mitchell Forbes and Joseph Suberan are also looking good. Pick of the field event athletes is Ronaldo Vernon-Kelly who is impressing in the shot, discus and javelin.’
