Charles ‘The Killa’ Whittaker’s
next fight is for two belts and if he comes through that he will get a shot at
the WBA title.
Whittaker takes on Marco Antonio
Avendano at the Lion Centre on 8 May.
The Venezuelan is a tough fighter
and this will be a difficult one for Whittaker who is undefeated since 2004. In
his 36 fights, Avendano has won 28, lost seven and drawn one. Twenty of his
wins have come by knockout.
Whittaker, 36, has a record of
35-12-2 including 23 knockouts. He said: “I’ve been assured by the WBA that if
I beat this guy I will be placed in the top three of the rankings and get a
shot at the world title against Ishida. I’m going to kick Avendano’s ass!”
