Kennedy Gallery burns Gas

The double-A division of the local
little league saw tons of action last Saturday at the Field of Dreams.

Kennedy Gallery took down Home Gas 9-6
by scoring six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to overcome a three-run
deficit. Connor Hoeksma, Connor Woods and Taurean Cox had two RBI apiece for
Kennedy Gallery (2-0). Pitcher Krystal Arch made two fantastic defensive plays
in the second inning.

Home Gas (0-2) took a 6-3 lead
after three innings behind a Pablo Bertran triple and runs scored by Zach
Parham, Kevin Webber, Matthew Guitard and Ryan Vander Bol. Home Gas also had
excellent pitching and fielding over four innings by Vander Bol and Guitard
among others.

Meanwhile Paint Pros scored in
every inning and enjoyed excellent relief pitching to defeat Subway 7-4 in their
game. Subway (0-2) tied the game 2-2 in the first inning behind a bases-loaded,
two-RBI double by Piers Davies.

Paint Pros (2-0) then pulled ahead
for good in the second inning and held Subway scoreless for three innings until
giving up a Finigan Huffington two-run homer in the fifth. Subway’s other
highlights included good pitching by Huffington and Cameron McWatt and impressive
fielding by Davies.

Subway actually started their
season on March 2 with an 8-3 defeat to Kennedy Gallery. Subway’s Huffington
pitched three strong innings while Davies drove in two runs.
