Islanders ready to upset

The CDMS Islanders have been
knocking on the proverbial door this year in adult roller hockey.

A cellar-dweller in seasons past,
the Cayman Destination Management Services team has stepped up to a 4-3 mark
thus far.

Now CDMS has a chance to break the
top two in the standings in its match against the Budget Beavers on April 13 at
the WestTel arena of Kings Sports Centre at 9pm.

CDMS is a game behind the 4-2 MEPCO
High Rollers for second place. MEPCO is also in action, playing the winless
Barracudas at 8pm.

CDMS have proven to be far from
easy this year. In addition to beating the Barracudas three times the Islanders
took down MEPCO in the third game of the season.

A big reason for the success has
been a stellar line-up of attacking players featuring the ageless Pete
Holowchuk, sportsman Brendon Malice and rookie Ben Rivard.

Holowchuk is in the top five in the
league in scoring thus far with 20 points (he has team highs of 12 goals and
eight assists). Malice, normally a defenseman, has seven points off four
assists and Rivard has nine goals and 10 points.

The Islanders will need offense and
loads of defensive fortitude to defeat the top-ranked Beavers. Budget has
beaten CDMS twice this year scoring more than 12 goals in each encounter.
