HSBC employee recognised

Mark McIntyre, HSBC Cayman’s head
of corporate banking, has received the bank’s CEO Award.

The award is presented to an
employee who has demonstrated outstanding performance and a strong commitment
to HSBC’s strategy, the bank said in a press statement.

The CEO Award is HSBC’s highest
form of employee recognition in North America and recipients are typically nominated
by team members according to performance and commitment nomination criteria.

In November 2009 Mr. McIntyre participated
in the Cayman Islands government’s first public bond issue for which HSBC acted
as the sole book runner.

The bond issue was also the bank’s
first Caribbean bond issue.

“I am truly honoured to receive
such a prestigious award and also grateful for the recognition given to our
signature transaction for 2009. I would also like to thank my team who were
integral to the successful execution of the Cayman Islands bond transaction,”
Mr. McIntyre said.

His experience spans over 22 years
in the Caribbean financial services sector, specifically in the fields of
wealth management, corporate finance, credit risk management and corporate
banking.

“Mark has shown his dedication to
HSBC since joining the local senior management team in May 2007,” said HSBC
Cayman CEO Gonzalo Jalles.

“The successful Cayman Islands bond
transaction has already opened a number of doors for HSBC Cayman to develop
other opportunities in the Caribbean to expand our business. This is a clear
example of dedication and hard work meeting opportunity. This is a
well-deserved award.”
