Digicel trials to start

International football duty is
approaching for Cayman’s players.

The Cayman Islands Football Association
in preparation for the 2010 Digicel Caribbean Cup Championship Qualifiers
scheduled is inviting players to attend training for national senior men’s team
selection. The tournament is in Puerto Rico in August.

Training will be on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays at 6.30pm at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex and will
be conducted by Carl Brown, national technical director and fitness trainer
Thiago Cunha.

The invited players are Ramon
Sealy, Dexter Benliss, Jermaine Brown and Mario Dinall (goal keepers), Leighton
Elliott, Leon Whittaker, Rene Carter, Donald Solomon Jr, Andre McFarlane, Luigi
Hernandez, Paul Brown, Oniel Taylor, Ian Lindo, Hank Parchment, Jason Ebanks,
Jedd Ebanks, Chris Douglas, Deon Brandon, Jairo Sanchez, Nicholas Ebanks,
Lorenzo Brown, James Ebanks, Richard Grant, Donavan Godet, Derrin Ebanks,
Benjamin Cupid, Tex Whitelocke, Theron Wood, Mark Ebanks, Rolly Bodden, Gabriel
Godet and Alejandro Ruiz.

These players were selected from
the Premier and First Division League clubs and are rated amongst the best on
the island. A team will be selected from this squad for final preparation
before the start of this competition.

The national team its last real
test in October 2008 during the second stage of the Digicel Caribbean Cup
competition when they were knocked out of the finals in the ‘Group of Death’ in
Guadeloupe.
