dms’ Talk Live hits the air

Listeners
who enjoy weighing in on the big issues of the day and listening to opposing
views can tune into Talk Live @ 96.5.Cayman’s latest talk radio programme.

Launched
by dms on Thursday, 29 April, the show now airs weekday mornings between 7am
and 9am.

 The station, more commonly
known as 96.5 CAYROCK, defers from its usual rock programming to feature two
hours of daily discussion regarding international, regional and local issues.

Behind
the microphone, addressing the issues of the day, is media veteran Cynthia Hew
and “Snap Monkhouse.” The programme’s second pair of host are young Caymanians
Victor Crumbley and Carolina Ferriera.

The programme is produced by Preston Onfroy,
who will ensure that compelling topics get aired.

When
Mrs. Hew was asked about her thoughts on joining, she said: “Our aim is to
explore both sides of every story and address the issues affecting our
community by educating our listeners.”

“This is about offering radio that addresses
‘real issues’ and engages in ‘real talk’ with reliable consults and experts,
and provides possible solutions to the various concerns within our community –
without the distraction of mudslinging and political rhetoric”.

Mr.
Monkhouse said: “At Talk Live @ 96.5 we are about the issues – peeling back the
onion to get to the heart of matters. We will be speaking with decision makers
and experts and asking the tough questions to allow our listeners to make
informed decisions.”

In
addition to the new programming, the show will have its own website www.talklive.ky featuring international and local newsfeeds. The site will also feature
online streaming and podcasts. Talk Live @ 96.5 will also interface with its
listeners using social networking platforms as Twitter and Facebook.
