The Department of Children and
Family Services is staging Youth Fest 2010, a concert and talent show, at the
Lions Centre, Friday, 28 May.
The event starts at 6pm and will
last four hours. According to organisers, the show will include song and dance competitions;
a battle of the bands, best dressed king and queen contest and plenty of prizes.
Admission to the event is $5; children younger
than 5 years old will get in for free. Organisers also said that there will be
a free hotdog, drink and a snack for the first 300 guests.
To enter the competition, potential
contestants must be younger than 18 years old or attend a local high school and
must pre-register with the Department of Children and Family Services by Friday,
21, May. A mandatory rehearsal prior to the grand finale on Friday, 28 May will
be announced shortly. Entries in the song competition must be original and
based on the Child Month theme.
