DMS boat sails ahead

A
new boat sponsored by DMS won the first summer J/22 racing series held at the
Cayman Islands Sailing Club on Sunday.

The
boat dominated all three races, winning by a large margin over the other four
teams. Crew members included Cayman’s best youth racers Chris Delaney, Alex
Walton, and Marina Maffessanti. It was a special day for the team, which
reunited to sail one last time before they leave high school and move to
university.

Sailing
Director, Michael Weber, was proud of the young sailors.  “I am very happy with how the kids handled
themselves on the water. They sailed very maturely and showed a good
understanding of sail trim and strategy.”

Weber
also thanked DMS.  “The J/22 is a boat
that kids like to sail and I am grateful to DMS for its support.”

The
next sailing event is the Harbour House Banks and Back long distance race this
weekend followed by the Red Stripe Storm Chaser dinghy regatta on 5-6 June.
