The rugby community had the
pleasure of another visit from Rory Lawson, the Scottish international
scrum-half last week.
Lawson, 29, was here for a
few days for a short break and catch up with his Cayman friends and pass on
some tips to the youngsters. Annoyingly for him, he came when the heavy rains
arrived after months of virtually totally dry weather.
“Last time I came, a year
ago, I had such a great time and this was another great opportunity to come for
a mix of holiday and to keep fit,” Lawson said. “I’ve been to Rum Point and the
beach and I’ll be heading home back to the Scottish rain. We meet in Scotland
on Sunday to go on tour in Argentina and then I’ll return for the club season
“Next season we hope to
finish in the top four in the Premier League and get a chance to play in the
Heineken Cup playoffs.”
How has Cayman changed in
the year since Lawson was here? “Well it’s wetter! Too much like Scotland.”
He stayed with old pal
Dennis Hunter on Walkers Road. “Dennis has been the perfect host, as always. I
have to say that so he’ll have me back!”
Annoyingly for him, he came
when the heavy rains arrived after months of virtually totally dry weather.
