Sport those bikinis for charity

It is almost time to jump into
bikinis for a good cause. Next Thursday, 17 June, sees Cayman’s first attempt
at smashing the Guinness world record for the largest parade of bikinis in

Tiki Beach Bar on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman
will be the site for the parade at 5.30pm. Last minute registration takes place
at 5pm with a $15 sign-up fee. Proceeds will go toward the Cayman Islands
Amateur Swimming Association.

X107.1 Emcee Chloe Hill will host
the event and serve as one of the judges alongside Betty Baraud, Mario Cabezas,
Ian Dawson James and Simon Payne. Chief organisers for the parade include Avril
Brophy, Maria Butler, Monica Czorny, Laurice Fraser, Dr. Sook Lee Yin, Brenda
McGrath and Nicole Wild Merl.

There will be many prizes during
the parade. Among the categories of note are most creative, retro and funky.
Prizes include a two-night stay at the Marriott Resort Grand Cayman including
breakfast, one year unlimited yoga pass at Bliss in the Marquee plaza worth
$1,200 and a sunset cruise donated by Red Sail Sports for up to 40 participants.

and come to Tiki Beach to show your support. The main purpose of this parade is
to support children becoming water-safe and the development of competitive
swimming to the highest level. We need 324 to beat the current record but we
are hoping for 1,000 participants.”

Registration is ongoing for the
parade at the following dates and times:

Friday, 11 June, from 5.30pm at
Sunset House

Saturday, 12 June, from noon at
Coconut Joes
