New facial on island

A
new type of facial that promises the results of a chemical peel without the
downsides has come to the Cayman Islands.

The
HydraFacial is described as a non-irritating, serum-based skin resurfacing
system that gives results comparable to more aggressive chemical peels and
microdermabrasion – without the discomfort or downtime.

“We
are excited about this new service now available at our renovated spa at Smith
Road Plaza” says Jacqui Tomlinson-Smith, managing director of Beyond Basics.
“The results are remarkable. It’s a wonderful advance for skin care and we are
very excited to be the first in Cayman to offer these treatments.”

She
said the “exceptional effectiveness” of HydraFacial is due to its use of
specially formulated serums and a vacuum-based skin abrasion tip. It removes
dead skin cells and impurities while bathing healthy underlying skin with deep
cleansing, extracting, exfoliating and antioxidant serums.

Ms
Tomlinson-Smith said the serums improved the appearance of fine lines and
wrinkles, congested pores, hyper-pigmentation and acne-prone skin.

According
to Beyond Basics, the facial is appropriate for most skin types, including thin
or aging skin, ethnic skin and oily skin.

Beyond
Basics 2 will move from Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital into the expanded
Beyond Basics site at Smith Road Plaza on 6 July.
