Caledonian marks 40 years

A staff appreciation celebration
kicked off the Caledonian Group’s 40th anniversary this summer with more than
50 staff and Caledonian owners, the Walkers family.

Hosted by Caledonian Group Chief
Executive Officer David Walker, the event was an opportunity to thank employees
and express appreciation for their service and commitment. It was highlighted
by special presentations of gift baskets and bouquets to long-serving
employees, as well as by a pictorial time line that chronicled the
organisation’s growth since its formation in the Cayman Islands by William S.
Walker in 1970.

David Walker welcomed staff,
saying, “Caledonian has made tremendous progress over the past 40 years, much
of which is attributed to the vision of its leaders and the support of its
staff.” He reflected on the relationship with employees and underscored the
organisation’s determination to reach new heights.

“Four decades after Caledonian was
founded, we remain uniquely positioned to thrive and to continue to contribute
to the economic growth and diversification in the markets that we serve,” he

Mr. Walker also unveiled a new
company directive and management reporting system that will be used to ensure
continuous success and enhance productivity and performance across all global
offices in the years to come.

Mr. Walker also addressed questions
about a new partnership: he confirmed that the organisation was looking to
expand. “We are continuing to look for ways to strengthen our service offering,
and at the moment we are in discussions with a potentially ‘solid’ strategic
partner that will strengthen our presence globally,” he said.

As a symbol of Caledonian’s steady
progression and the Walkers family’s dedication, Managing Director Bernard
McGrath presented each owner of the Caledonian Group with a commemorative 40th
anniversary clock as tokens of the staffs appreciation to the family.

Human Resources Manager Jacqueline
Terry described the event as rewarding. “The excitement was contagious and every
employee received the clear message that Caledonian’s success is shared success
and though change is coming, the company remains committed to empowering and
inspiring its employees through effective management and positive reinforcement.”

anniversary celebrations with a series of special events later in the year that
