LIME lays out five-year plans

LIME has announced that it will
invest US$600 million in its 13 business units across the Caribbean over the
next five years.

A press release from the telecoms
provider states the funds will underwrite the delivery of new services and the
wide-scale upgrading of existing infrastructure.

LIME’s Chief Marketing Officer
Chris Dehring said the company will also be launching a TV service in Jamaica
and Barbados by the end of 2010. The company also plans to significantly upgrade
its internet capacity to deliver speeds of 8mb or higher, improve its mobile
coverage with value added wireless services and roll out next generation fixed
and mobile networks.

Mr. Dehring also said that LIME
will be accelerating the roll out of retail stores and upgrading its contact
centre to improve customer service across the region, with the aim of providing
services on par with those offered in places like North America and Europe.
