Earl sends Cayman a cruise

Hurricane Earl’s path through the
Leeward Islands has led to major changes in the Caribbean cruise ship

Freedom of the Seas left Port
Canaveral on Sunday, 29 August and was originally scheduled to call at St.
Thomas on Wednesday and St. Maarten on Thursday.

However, due to the ferocious
weather, the schedule has now been altered to include visits to Grand Cayman
and Cozumel instead. Freedom will be in port at Hog Sty Bay on Wednesday, 1 September.

The storm has also meant itinerary
changes for several other ships. The Carnival Dream, which left Port Canaveral
on Friday, 27 August, has altered to a Western Caribbean route rather than its
original Eastern Caribbean route; Carnival Pride scrapped Wednesday’s Grand
Turk stop from its itinerary; Carnival Victory will stay at sea rather than
stop at St. Thomas.

Oasis of the Seas, Enchantment of
the Seas, and Norwegian Epic also changed their itineraries.
