From Inspiration to Paradise

Carnival cruises has announced the
repositioning of one of Cayman’s more regular visitors.

Carnival Inspiration will now
operate out of Long Beach, California as of autumn 2011. It will now visit
Enseneda, Baja and Catalina Island in the Pacific West Coast. Previously it was
based in Tampa, running cruises to Cozumel and Grand Cayman on its four and
five-day Western Caribbean schedule.

Inspiration will offer a 14-night Panama
Canal cruise on the way to its new home, during which it crosses over with
replacement ship Carnival Paradise, which takes up the Western Caribbean routes
from 12 December, 2011. Previously, Paradise was based at Long Beach.

Both ships are from the Fantasy
class and hold over 2,600 passengers plus nearly 1,000 crew. Carnival
Inspiration was recently refurbished to include an aqua park, a 300-ft long
water slide plus an adults-only area, while Carnival Paradise is decked out in
a classic style which the cruise company said paid homage to ocean liners of
the past. Venues include the Queen Mary Lounge, Normandie Theatre and the
Rotterdam Bar.
