Shivnarine Chanderpaul achieved
another magical milestone in his outstanding cricket career last Thursday. The
ever-reliable left-hander reached 19,000 in his first-class career as he made
20 in the second for Lancashire against Somerset in their English County
In the first innings of the match
he made 56 – his 97th first-class half-century and now his numbers show 19,007
runs in 260 first-class match in a career which has spanned 18 years.
Unfortunately, the 36-year-old Guyanese ended up on the losing side as Somerset
had an easy victory by nine wickets at the County Ground in Taunton.
