A host of games, a photo
competition and mini-photography workshops mark the opening of Camana Bay’s new
Discovery Centre this weekend on The Paseo in the Town Centre.
Using interactive touch screens and
concierge service, visitors to The Discovery Centre can learn about Camana
Bay’s past, present and future – the inspiration behind The Town’s vision,
what’s coming up on the Camana Bay events calendar and information about
properties available in the community.
“We call it your way into Camana
Bay,” said John Hillman, director of sales. “Interactive elements are aimed at
both adults and children, so all can learn about what makes Camana Bay so
From 10am-4pm on Saturday, 2
October, local artist Wray Banker, will offer a series of traditional games for
the family. Visitors can try their hand at a game of mankala or dominoes, or
demonstrate their prowess at yo-yo or gig spinning. Kids will love the crab
racing Solijah, the giant games of Connect 4, Jenga, Snakes & Ladders and
Hopscotch, and the special lunch-hour storytelling by Nasaria Suckoo-Chollette.
Native Sons will outline a giant
chalk mural of a Cayman seascape for kids to colour in or simply create their
own art on the pavers. All games will take place on The Paseo in front of the
