Be informed series focuses on Customs

The next session of the Chamber of
Commerce’s Be Informed series will focus on
the Customs department and the process of importing goods into the Cayman
Islands.

The programme will be held at The
Westin Casuarina Resort & Spa on Wednesday, 27 October, from 3-5pm in the
Galleon Ballroom.

The event, sponsored by
SteppingStones, is free and all Chamber members and their guests are invited to
attend and meet experts in the Customs Department. Langlie Powery, training
manager for Customs, will address the aims and objectives of the Customs Department;
compliance management, including passenger, cargo and baggage processing at the
airport and seaport; and trade facilitation systems. 

Other panel members include Collie
Powery, DC Operations; Carlin Powery, the collector; Mitzi Jervis, accounts
manager and Ronnie Miller, systems administrator.
